Candle Care
Lighting your wood wick
Tilt your candle at an angle and drag the flame across the length of your wood wick to ensure an even burn. If your wood wick keeps extinguishing, try trimming away the burnt bits before trying again. You can also use your hands to break off the blackened bits if you do not have a wick trimmer.

Keep your wood wick trimmed to ~1/4" before each burn.
The first burn
This is the most crucial step in candle care as natural wax has a wax memory. Burn your candle for at least 2 hours or until your candle reaches a full melt pool. This will avoid candle tunneling. It is best practice to have your candle reach a full melt pool each time you burn it, but the first burn is the most important.
Extinguishing your candle
Extinguishing your candle
Cover your candle with the lid provided to put out the flame. Do not blow out the flame as this will cause your wick to smoke.

To enhance the scent throw and lifespan of your candle, burn in enclosed areas and keep away from drafts. The wood wick creates a soft crackling sound as it burns, much like a soothing fireplace. This is very much the intention and no cause for alarm.
